Gorgeous New First Class Suite by Collins Aerospace

I’m writing from the Aircraft Interior Expo in Hamburg, Germany, where aerospace manufacturers from all over the world convene to show off their latest creations. Among the most exciting exhibits at the expo is Collins’ Aerospace’s new first class suite called the Signature Dream, which reminds me a great, great deal of Qantas’ upcoming first class seats. Below you’ll find the photos and video I took with the demo version.

The Signature Dream first-class suites are fully enclosed and feature a seat and a separate bed measuring 82 inches.

A massive 42-inch screen hangs on the front wall of the suite.

A tablet next to the seat controls nearly all the seat’s functions, including opening and closing the suite’s motorized doors, which also have dedicated buttons.

The space underneath the bed is large enough to stow two standard cabin bags.

Check out this video of the suite, which I hope gives a better sense of its size.

Release timing

We don’t know yet which airlines will use this suite nor when exactly it will debut to passengers, though it’ll likely be sometime in 2024.

My thoughts

The new Signature Dream is gorgeous, and a definite upgrade to Collins’ current first class offering, Oasis. As much as we hear about the demise of first class cabins, it’s clear that they’ll still figure prominently at the front of many airlines’ planes in the future.

Check back here for updates–I’ll be posting new information as I get it.
